Woo hoo, yet another cupcake shop on the peninsula..... and it's a good one!!! I was greeted at the door by a very sweet young man who welcomed me and told me about the store and the day's cupcakes. I selected a nutella cupcake (vanilla cake with nutella frosting) and a rum cupcake (rum cake with spiced rum buttercream ). Both were delicious and I'll definitely be back to try them again!

It's not often a store names itself with the most apt word to describe it's product, but this place nailed it. Ethereal. Not sure it's a sustainable business model in Hampton, VA, but that basically gives me a reason to go more often. Not sure what happened with the unhappy customers, because I had a great experience. Staff were very kind, attentive and tended to my order efficiently. And my "it was Mint to be" cupcake was DELICIOUS. Super soft and moist with a dollop of ganache in the center and just melted in my mouth. Frosting was minty and sweet - actually didn't need to be as sweet as it was but it didn't take away from the amazing cupcake underneath. Had a good latte too. Will def...

Ethereal Cupcakes is a great little shop in the middle of a growing retail area in Hampton! Their cupcakes are always super-fresh and balanced.
